Adkins Diet - Probably the best known low carbohydrate diet around.  It starts with restricting your carb intake to a low 20g a day for the first 14 days.  No need to count calories, but count carbohydrates instead.  Learning the count is the key here.  A fiber gram counters a carb gram.  For example a 1/2 cup of green beans is 5g carb and 2g fiber.  Therefore 5-2=3g.  You count 1/2 cup of green beans as 3.  It makes a whole different way to look at labels when shopping.  You can buy the book below.

Carbohydrate Addicts Diet - If you crave sweets, starches, and still want more even if you are full, you may be a carb addict.  This plan is a timing eating of carbs.  With this plan you eat low carbs for 2 meals and anything you want the 3rd meal.  No restrictions on what you eat for your "Reward" meal, except you have only 1 hour in which to eat it.  The book explains that this will stop your body from spiking insulin into storing fat.

Protein Power Diet - This diet also emphasizes the reduced carbs.  It suggests increasing protein in your diet.  The daily carb intake is 30-50 grams a day.

Sugar Busters Diet - Sounds pretty simple.  It touts sugar is found in unexpected places.  Eliminate sugar from your diet and over-all health is improved.  It has guides on food combinations and best time to eat certain foods.

The Zone Diet - This diet stresses balance in eating.  Carbs, proteins, and fats. 40%, 30%, 30% is the "Zone" percentages for peak health.
